Pete Venters is the book's illustrator, and one of the most popular game artists around. He is best known for his nearly 300 pieces of trading card art for Magic: The Gathering, but has also worked in concept art, comic books and book design. He is the illustrator for the Gothic Charm School trade paperback, written by his wife, Jillian Venters. 

He and Mike have collaborated on projects for Disney and Wizards of the Coast.
