It’s been a topsy-turvy few weeks here at Lone Shark HQ. The Lords of Vegas Kickstarter campaign continues apace, with only three days left for you to pledge before it ends at noon Pacific on Thursday. We’re busy preparing for conventions—but not in the usual way. Instead, we’re firing up Tabletop Simulator for the upcoming PaizoCon Online and Origins Online. And we’ve got some ways for international fans of our games to get them from us. See below for details on all of that.
But first, a Mother’s Day surprise. Yesterday, Mike and three of his puzzly friends (Kid Beyond, Alison Muratore, and The Mystery League’s Sandor Weisz) released the Puzzle Bouquet, a puzzle spectacular with moms in mind. The Puzzle Bouquet is free on this site, but we would like you to make a donation to our fundraiser for Every Mother Counts so we can sponsor a hotline for moms in need. So, download the PDF, make a donation, and enjoy solving our mom-themed puzzles!
Just three more days in the Lords of Vegas Kickstarter!
If you haven’t checked out our 10th anniversary Kickstarter for Lords of Vegas, we’d love you to do so by backing the Kickstarter here! And if you have, there’s been some developments that warrant you taking another look.
One exciting development has been the revelation of the contents of the Boss Bundle, including the mobster’s briefcase box we got in the other day. We’ve also introduced poker chips, a felt-lined tray, a playmat, a player upgrade kit, and a unified rulebook as add-ons. Now you can mix and match box sets and upgrades to your heart’s content, or just get it all in one of our Boss Bundles. The campaign ends on Thursday at noon Pacific, so if you want any of this stuff, pledge at least a dollar to reserve a spot in our PledgeManager after the campaign ends.
The briefcase box. Below, prototypes of the Underworld cover, the Vegas playmat, the poker chips, the briefcase with the tray removed, and the felt-lined tray.
The campaign has also been notable for all the fun stuff we’ve done in the updates. James and Mike have been showing off the history of the game. Chad has written several installments of Sammy the Snail’s Strategy Guide for Lords of Vegas. We’ve uploaded videos of Mike and James talking about the game while walking through Las Vegas a couple months back. It’s been a really fun campaign and we’re glad you’re a part of it. Take a look, and if you see something you like, why not pick it up? And if all that hasn’t persuaded you, maybe these fine folks can.
Important offers our international fans!
Because times are challenging for a lot of folks, we’re continuing our Save Our Sanity offer. You can get Apocrypha, The Ninth World, Sausage Party, Thornwatch, and all our puzzle stuff for more than half off if you go to our webstore now. (You can’t get Lords of Vegas yet on our store. And you can’t get physical copies of The Maze of Games, which is sold out. We hope to have both in our store later this year.)
That said, we only ship to the United States and Canada, which has kept many of our international fans from getting our products. So we want to talk about two ways you can get our stuff if you’re not from around these parts.
First, you can back the Lords of Vegas campaign. When we roll out our PledgeManager after the campaign ends, we will have most of our games and books available to add onto your pledge. If you back the Lords of Vegas campaign for at least a dollar, you can have all our games added to your international shipment.
Second, you can get most of our games as part of this new Cool Stuff Inc. sale. Apocrypha, The Ninth World, Puzzlecraft, and Thornwatch are all available there at reduced prices, and they ship to the EU, South America, much of Asia, and so on. So if you’re an international supporter of Lone Shark, we’ve got a couple of ways for you to get hooked up with everything we have in stock.
Playing our games with us online
We’re excited to say we’re getting ready for our next conventions. Now, we’re not quite ready for full-scale conventions to ramp up again, but two of our favorite conventions have gone online in the next few weeks, and we’re thrilled to be a part of them,
The first of these is PaizoCon Online, which takes place during Memorial Day Weekend. Our online play Venture-Captain, Tyler Beck, has prepared an official Pathfinder Adventure Card Game mod on Tabletop Simulator, which you can get to by following the instructions in this blog by Tyler. It uses all cards from the Core Set and Curse of the Crimson Throne. You can play our adventure A Night at Bloodthorne Manor with friends in the comfort of your homes. PaizoCon Online signups for GMs are running now, and player signups start May 16. And while you’re there, pick up this badass Paizo Golem Pride Pin so you can represent in style..
You can also play Lords of Vegas on Tabletop Simulator. Our developer Chad has created a mod that imports all the Underworld cards, poker chips, and so on. So if you’d like to help us playtest the expansion, download the PDF and then open up Tabletop Simulator to try out all the new sweetness. Here’s how you do that.

Some sad news in the Lone Shark family
As many of you know, we lost a family member this week. Joe Teague, a great friend of the Sharks and the husband of our longtime game and graphic designer Elisa Teague, was killed in a vehicular collision. Joe was a grip on the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and was beloved by everyone there. We miss him a lot. If you feel up for it, you can donate to the Joe Teague Memorial Fund and/or the fund that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast created for his family. We’d very much appreciate your kindness.
Thanks for being a part of our fan base. We’re thrilled that so many of you enjoy what we make. Stay safe and play some games!
